Strengthening LGBTQIA+ Mental Health Through Ethical, Community-Led Partnership
Be/Here is a queer-created, queer-led mental health service built by and for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Grounded in lived experience and clinical expertise, we work alongside local authorities, NHS services, VCSE partners and national funders to reduce inequalities and strengthen early intervention pathways.
Why Be/Here Exists
Be/Here was created because the LGBTQIA+ community deserves more than surface-level affirmation.
We exist in response to:
-
Persistent mental health inequalities
-
Barriers to culturally competent care
-
Increased exposure to minority stress and trauma
-
Disengagement from mainstream services
Our mission is to deliver ethical, high-quality therapy where simply being “queer-affirming” is not enough
Our Model
Specialist Therapy
All therapists receive additional LGBTQIA+ specialist training beyond core qualifications to ensure ethically grounded, clinically robust care.
Delivered face-to-face in Stockport and Greater Manchester, and online across the UK
Prevention & Early Intervention
Free mental health skills workshops designed to support people before crisis point
We prioritise prevention, not just crisis response.
Community & Drop-In Spaces
Relaxed, supportive spaces — particularly for trans and non-binary people — reducing isolation and strengthening belonging.
Community is therapeutic.
System & Workforce Development
